China Southern

China Southern Airlines is an airline headquartered in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China. It is the world's sixth-largest airline measured by passengers carried and Asia's largest airline in fleet size and passengers carried. It is the fourth-largest airline in the world in domestic passenger traffic and the sixth-largest in scheduled domestic passenger kilometres flown. From its main hubs at Guangzhou and Beijing, the airline flies to 193 destinations using a fleet of more than 400 aircraft.

China Southern from London Heathrow

China Southern operate a daily service from London Heathrow, Terminal 4, to Guangzhou in China with onward connections to destinations in Australasia. During the summer months this is reduced to 5 flights per week (no flights on Mon or Wed) Additionally there is a comprehensive service throughout China and Asia. A total of 65 flights a week operate into New Zealand and Australia.
China Southern operate the Boeing 787 (Dreamliner) on services to Heathrow and Auckland, Airbus A380 into Sydney and Airbus A330's on other routes

The following destinations can be reached on connecting flights:

Auckland:  10 Flights per week (twice daily in summer months)
Sydney:  3 flights per day.  1 on A380 aircraft
Melbourne:  2 flights per day
Brisbane:  1 flight per day 
Perth: 3 flights per week

The following is the current baggage allowance on flights through to Australasia
Checked:  Economy Class   23 kgs       Prem Econ 2 x 23 kgs       Business Class 2 x 32 kgs    First Class 3 x 32 kgs
Carry on:  1 x 5 kgs in all cabins, 2 x 5 kgs in First Class (there is a size restriction) in all cabins 

Airfares are very competitive and although the transfer time in Guangzhou may be longer than some other airlines the price can make it very worthwhile.

A380 Overview

Economy Class

76 seats on the upper deck in a 2-4-2 configuration and 352 seats on the main deck in a 3-4-3 configuration with a seat pitch of 32”. Multi-way adjustable headrest (up/down/left/right) and the seat pad and back can be adjusted together in order. Adjustable seat back and seat step with rounded dinner table and water bottle holder.
9” digital widescreen TV with more than 1,200 program options with 1,000G capacity, offering over 600 hours of entertainment.  Office software with USB port for personal picture viewing and music playing

Premium Economy Class

Premium Economy has an increased seat pitch of 35"-37" with 40% more space and legroom. Warm blankets and soft pillows are provided on long-haul flights.  Cabin Service and catering is of a higher standard than Economy.
Note: This cabin is not available on services out of London and only on some flights into Australia!

Business Class

70 flat-bed seats in 1-2-1 configuration with annular placement of seat creates an independent “private room”. Innovative design ensures that all seats have aisle access and seats are adjustable to any preset position(upright, dining or bed). Each seat pitch is 87” and each seat length is 75” or 85” with width of 24”.  Large personal table of 16”×7”. Seats have built-in amenities such as mini-bar, laptop stowage, literature pocket, reading light, USB port, power socket and shoe stowage
15.4” digital widescreen TV with more than 1,200 program options with 1,000G capacity, offering over 600 hours of entertainment.  Office software set with noise-cancelling headphones to reduce unwanted ambient sounds. First Class

Eight flat-bed Private Suites set in a 1-2-1 configuration with each seat pitch at 82”. Each suite is 1.52 meters high and each seat is fully adjustable to any preset position (upright, dining or bed), or to stretch out into a fully flat bed - 33” wide and 80” long. Dark purple seat, rich cherry wood color table and light grey wallboards with unique advanced mood lighting system will present up to six mood lighting choices.
