Malaysia Airlines

The origins of Malaysia Airlines date back to 1937 with an Air Service between Penang and Singapore as Malayan Airways.  With the formation of Malaysia in 1963 the airline soon became Malaysian Airline System (MAS) or in short Malaysia Airlines, and today it flies around 37,000 passengers daily to some 80 destinations worldwide. 

Malaysia Airlines from London Heathrow

Maylasia Airlines operate 2 daily flights to Kuala Lumpur on modern A350 aircraft from London Heathrow Termial 4.  Flights connect with onward services to Australasia on A330 aircraft. Malaysia Airlines operate 42 flights a week into Australia/New Zealand.
Auckland: 1 flight per day
Sydney:  2 flights per day
Melbourne:  2 flights per day
Adelaide: 4 flights per week
Perth:  1 flight per day
Darwin:  3 flights per week

Pre-Booked Seats
Malaysia now offer a preferred seat policy where preferred seats (emergency exits, front rows etc) can be pre-booked but are paid for.  The cost is approximately £30 for each sector (ie London to Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur to Sydney). Malaysia Airlines is a member of the global Oneworld Alliance of leading international airlines including Cathay Pacific, Qantas, British Airways and Qatar Airlines. The group have 15 member airlines and serve 150 countries approaching 1000 destinations. A number of special airfares are available including 2 different and quite unique Round the World (RTW) fares in the Oneworld Explorer and Global Explorer.

Economy Class

Lightweight and slim design. Total of 420 seats with individual 10.6-in IFE wide screen seatback mounted. Seat formation of 2-4-2 on Upper Deck and 3-4-3 on Main Deck. Recline of 6 inches, with 32-inch pitch and 18-inch seat width. Equipped with 115VAC PED power supply and USB port. Upholstered with fabric and leather trimming in 3 colours. Seat features forward articulation recline, 4 way headrest and composite seatback. Seat overall made of Botany fabric in 3 colour range – red, maroon and purple, with dotted accents, leather trimming on headrest and armrest.

Business Class

Located in upper deck with 2-2-2 seat formation. Total of 66 seats (33 double assembly), with seat pitch of 74 inches. Full flat-bed length of about 72 inches. Equipped with 115VAC PED power supply and USB port. Individual 17-inch IFE screen, seatback mounted, largest in Malaysia Airlines Business Class with wide-screen aspect ratio of 16:9. Personal items stowage available on each seat. Upholstered with fabric and leather trimming on headrest and armrest. Suite lining made of suede and fabric.

First Class

Located in main deck with 1-2-1 seat formation. Total of 8 seats with enclosed monument (4 individual seats and 2 double seats). Seat pitch of 89 inches and bed width of 40 inches. Full flat bed length of 87 inches. Individual 23-inch IFE screen, shell mounted, largest in Malaysia Airlines fleet with wide-screen aspect ratio of 16:9. Each seat comes with its personal closet and stowage for coat, luggage, laptop and personal belongings. Equipped with 115VAC PED power supply and USB port. Upholstered with fabric and leather trimming, suite lining made of suede and fabric. Granite cocktail table.
