Overnight: Cervantes Pinnacles Motel
Day 2: Cervantes to Kalbarri (NM)
From Cervantes, head north to Geraldton, a booming coastal city surrounded by fertile agricultural land. Gain an insight into the region’s rich maritime history at the WA Museum, or visit the beautifully designed HMAS Sydney Memorial on Mount Scott, then continue north to Kalbarri.
Two nights: Kalbarri Beach Resort
Day 3: Kalbarri (NM)
With a full day to explore the natural wonders of this region, watch the pelican feeding on the foreshore, take a guided hike through the magnificent river gorges, enjoy a scenic cruise past the spectacular coastal gorges whilst looking out for marine life, or visit the Rainbow Jungle Parrot Breeding Centre.
Day 4: Kalbarri to Monkey Mia (NM)
Re-join the North West Coastal Highway and head north towards the World Heritage listed area of Shark Bay. Before reaching Denham, the region’s main service centre, stop to view the remarkable stromatolites at Hamelin Pool and the crystal clear waters of Shell Beach, then continue to Monkey Mia.
Two nights: Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort, Shark Bay
Day 5: Monkey Mia (NM)
With a full day at leisure, look out for the friendly bottlenose dolphins that swim to shore, visit the dolphin information centre, take an award winning wildlife sailing cruise in search of dugongs and other exotic marine life, or enjoy a camel ride along the beach.

From Monkey Mia, head back to the main highway and continue north to Carnarvon, the regional hub in the Coral Coast’s north with a thriving agricultural industry. Step back in time at the museums in the heritage precinct, and take a walk along the historic One Mile Jetty.
Overnight: Hospitality Inn Carnarvon
Day 7: Carnarvon to Exmouth (NM)
On the final leg of your journey north, make a stop to swim in the calm, protected waters of Coral Bay, then continue to Exmouth. Ningaloo Reef is Australia’s largest fringing coral reef and is a protected marine park. It is also one of the few reefs that can be accessed straight from the beach.
Three nights: Novotel Ningaloo Resort Exmouth
Day 8: Exmouth (NM)
Spend the day fishing, swimming or snorkelling, travel with a dive operator to the outer reef, or simply enjoy the beaches along this protected east-facing coastline. Being a sociable town, by night there are plenty of choices for dining out and chatting over a couple of beers.
Day 9: Exmouth (NM)
A further day to soak up the relaxed beach lifestyle, or perhaps join a 4WD tour of the beautiful Cape Range National Park. Covering over 50,000 hectares, the park boasts breathtaking canyons, limestone ranges, an array of wildlife, and 50 km of pristine beaches.
Day 10: Exmouth to Karratha (NM)
Depart Exmouth to rejoin the North West Coastal Highway. From here the journey north passes through Western Australia’s vast Pilbara region. Karratha, the youngest and fastest growing town in the Pilbara, came into being in the late 1960’s due to the tremendous growth of the iron ore industry.
Overnight: All Seasons Karratha
Day 11: Karratha to Port Hedland (NM)
